  • Flexible Spending Accounts

HealthEquity administers Lumexa Imaging’s Flexible Spending Accounts for eligible healthcare and dependent care expenses.

Flexible spending accounts (FSAs) allow you to use tax-free dollars to pay for eligible health and dependent care expenses, which reduces your taxable income and the amount of taxes withheld from your paycheck.

You can choose to enroll in two FSAs administered by HealthEquity:

  • Healthcare FSA for medical, dental and vision expenses. You can elect a Healthcare FSA even if you waive other coverage, but you cannot be enrolled in both a Healthcare FSA and an HSA.
  • Dependent Care FSA for dependent care expenses while you’re at work or school.

Important

If you’re enrolled in the HDHP plan, you’re not eligible for the Healthcare FSA. Instead, you can contribute pre-tax to a Health Savings Account (HSA).

Important things to know about FSAs

  • Expenses must occur during the 2027 plan year.
  • Funds cannot be transferred between FSAs.
  • You are not permitted to claim the same expenses on both your federal income taxes and Dependent Care FSA.
  • You must “use it or lose it” — any unused funds at the plan’s end will be forfeited. There is no grace period.
  • You cannot change your FSA election in the middle of the plan year without a qualifying life event.
  • Terminated employees have 30 days following termination to submit FSA claims for reimbursement.

Note about domestic partners: Due to federal regulations, expenses for your domestic partner and your domestic partner’s children may not be reimbursed under the FSA programs. Check with your tax advisor to determine if any exceptions apply.

How to use your FSA

No matter how you choose to use your FSA, remember to always save your receipts.

  • Pay directly for health expenses. When you enroll in a Healthcare FSA, you’ll receive a debit card that can be used for covered, eligible services at doctor and dentist offices, pharmacies, and vision service providers. There is no debit card for the Dependent Care FSA.
  • Submit for reimbursement. Submit a claim form along with the required documentation. Contact HealthEquity with reimbursement questions. If you need to submit a receipt, HealthEquity will notify you.
