Disability
The Hartford is the Disability carrier. Disability insurance protects a portion of your income if you are unable to work as a result of illness or injury.
Short-Term Disability
- Short-Term Disability (STD) replaces 60% of your weekly earnings, up to a $2,000 weekly maximum.
- STD benefits begin after 14 days of disability and continue for up to 24 weeks.
- STD is provided at no cost to you.
- For physicians, disability is based on your ability to perform your own occupation.
Long-Term Disability
Lumexa Imaging offers different long-term disability (LTD) benefits for physicians and non-physician employees, with coverage options tailored to each group.
LTD benefits begin after 180 days of disability and may continue until your normal retirement age under Social Security. If your disability begins at age 62 or later, see the LTD policy for how long benefits are paid.

Pre-existing conditions
LTD benefits may not be payable if both of the following apply:
- You received treatment, consultation, or medication for a condition during the three months before your coverage became effective.
- That condition causes a disability during the first 12 months after your coverage becomes effective.
